I can still remember that day. I was working out of District 20. I can still hear the radio call. Unfortunately, I had not met PO Venable, but from that day, his memory has stayed with me. That goes for PO Lozada also. I was in the Academy when she was murdered. To my sister and brother RIP

September 22, 1987, I was laying on a sandy white beach in Aruba, enjoying the blue water and getting my drink on. I did something, I normally don't do.. For, some reason I just felt the need to call my Mother(who still lived in the old neighborhood Linden Plaza 12th floor).. When, I called she asked "how did you find out already". My reply, What, I was just calling to say hello. She said "Your friend the Police Officer, from the 11th floor died". My life forever changed, that day. I was on the first flight out of Aruba the following day. In denial until, I walked into that church and saw for myself. My Friend, My Brother from another Mother, Head of the "Wrecking crew", My party hang out partner, My Brother in Blue. Years, have passed though good memories of you remain in my heart and mind.

General as we all affectionately called you Rob there isn't a day that goes by that I reminisce how we played football against Cypress on Sunday mornings numerous parties we attended even though I was younger than the rest of the crew you made feel part of the crew. You taught me a lot being strong standing up for myself. As your birthday approaches I think about you that much more. You would be so proud of Januari she has made you a grandpa in spirit. His name is Maverick born 06/29/2018. Mike is going thru some things but I am definitely watch over like the two of watched over me. Rob I miss you until we meet again I make sure to make you proud. Happy Birthday General. Much love.

I only met Rob once, but his vibrant spirit made an immediate impression. I remember attending his funeral and seeing his young daughter left behind. I also had the pleasure of seeing her as a young woman, making her dad proud. I was reminded of his loss watching the documentary "Seven Five" and being angered once again at his tragic loss. RIP.

Uncle Rob
I Remember When You Brought Me My First black & Gold BMX Bike For Christmas. I know Cause You Was At My Home Putting It Together as I Watched. Even Though I Was Supposed To Be Sleep. I Remember When You Gave Me A Spanking Cause I Left The Park In Cypress, Walked Back To Plaza On My Own. I Remember Seeing You On The Park Bench at The Buildings Always Smiling & Laughing With Friends. Even Though I Was Only 9 When You Past On. I Have Some Good Memories of You. You Would Be Proud of The Family. Thank You For Being An Inspiration to Many.

It was my honor to research newspapers, books and magazines and finally find your ID Card Photo in a transit police magazine and make sure your photo was put on this site. I wanted to put a face to your heroism in the Line of Duty. I did the research because you are a brother officer and no matter how many years past, you will always be remembered. Rest Easy Hero.
