Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Officer Lowell Clayton Tribble

I have personally witnessed the the unrepairable damage this crime has caused the family.I cannot believe it, finally closure for my friends!!!! This has prevented a complete healing just the fact that there was more questions than answers.....What a gift let the healing began!!!!!
With love to the Tribble Family

Hey Trib
Today is judgement day. The turd is in jail and will never see a free day. DW did a great job to keep this alive and bring this to a close. I hope this brings somewhat of a closure to your family. Keep and eye out over the rest that still carry the torch forward

Dear Trib

I miss your laughter everyday. Everyone loved you, so who did this to you is unimaginable.

Your friendship was something I always treasured and miss it terribly.

Wish you were here to play a game of pool and share a beer with.

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

It's so sad that they still have not found your killers after all this time. I think about all of the fishing trips we had and how much fun you were. I still hold out hope that they will find the people who did this to you so will able to rest in peace. Your frind Mark.

HEY TRIB, I SEE THIS SITE DAILY AND I JUST WANTED TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE STILL THOUGHT ABOUT. I REMEMBER GETTING THE CALL WHILE OUT OF TOWN AND WAS IN TOTAL SHOCK. I AM STILL SADDENED TILL THIS DAY.

I remember the day this story hit the news approximately 22 years ago. How sad that no one was ever brought to justice for the ambush on Officer Tribble.
I attended his funeral service as one of the motor officers in the escort and recall it was a scorching hot August day in north Texas. Several officers were overcome by the intense heat at the graveside service, including myself. But one thing I remember was that even those that did require assistance with fluids refused to leave the graveside....as if to say, "It's the least I can do."
May God continue to pour His blessings upon the friends, co-workers and family of this fine officer.

God bless; rest in peace. Your murderers will be tried some day - by our Creator. They will pay the price - some day. Thank you for your service.

This just goes to show that there is never a safe time or place for a Law Enforcement Officer. It is sad that no one was ever apprehended for this senseless crime. My prayers are with you Officer Tribble and I just wanted you to know that you have not been forgotten. May you Rest in Peace!
