As our nation mourns the events of that day fifty years ago, we pay tribute to Officer Tippit. Your shift began that day like so many others had, unknowing the tragedy that was about to play out. Thank you for your service to not only your community, but our nation as well.

I was not yet born when Officer Tippit was murdered on that fateful day in Dallas, but I want his family to know that fifty years later and he is still in the thoughts of common people. His service will NEVER be forgotten.

I was just starting to read this and his wife came on tv. That is the weirdest thing in the world as I have never knew there was a PO killed that fateful day. All I can say is I am sorry. God bless you.

My heart goes out to the family of Officer J. D. Tippit. I will never forget that day. I was only 10 years old on this sad day but I remember it all like yesterday. I will carry the sadness of this day in my heart till I take my last breath. God Bless!
