35 years after you gave your life in the line of duty, I began mine. I wasn't even born when your life was taken but we share something -- a significant date that is significant to those who experience is as a beginning and the families for whom it is an end. Thank you for for your strengh and courage and I pray that I honor your memory every time I act under the color of my badge. Thank you sir. RIP

I just read the memorial for Patrolman Douglas Thompson. The men and women our Texas Department of Public Safety are among some of the finest law enforcement has to offer.
The citizens of Texas are very proud of our troopers and we hold them in high regard.
Patrolman Douglas Thompson will always be remembered for his sacrifice. May God bless his family.
