I am grateful for his service. My grandfather was James Augustus Thomas, 1861-1940, from Reidsville, NC, son of Henry Evans Thomas. Would this younger Henry Evans Thomas be James' brother?

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 77th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

This is my great-grandfather and I also heard many stories about his service in the Carolinas during the heyday of prohibition, counterfeiters and brazen bank robbers. He also published a number of detective novels/short stories which I have viewed at the Library of Congress. Thank you for recognizing his service. He laid down his life while attempting to capture a fugitive from justice.

This is my grandfather, who was killed days before I was born in Charlotte. My dad, Henry E. Thomas, III, now deceased, upon his father's death, entered the Secret Service, serving or many years before joining the CIA. I heard many tales of my grandfather's valor and dedication from his friends as I was growing up. This recognition of his service means a great deal to me and his family.
