Reflections for Patrol Officer Marion E. Taylor

I was born 21 years after your “End of Watch”. You would have been my Great Uncle. Unfortunately I never met you or your brother, my Grand Dad, because he passed away one month after my birth. From the stories I have been told, you and my Grand Dad were both great men and I wish I would have met you both.

I look at your photo each time I pass it at the PD. I study your face and I think your last day may have started like today. This ritual keeps me alert, and brings me home to my family.

I am sorry I never got to know you. I was born 5 months after your death, but I know I would have loved you because you were my grandfather's brother, and he was my favorite person in the world. I will never forget how much he ment to me as a child.

Officer Taylor,
On today, the 69th anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of McKinney. It took another two years, but your murderer finally got the justice that he deserved.
