Dennis... it has been so long but at times, it seems like yesterday. I will never forget the night I got the call from our office that you had been killed. I cried that night, just as I do today. You were more than a friend... to me and most everyone you knew. I remember looking at Christina, at your funeral, asking why God had to take you so young? All these years later I still ask that question and still do not know the answer. You had a quick smile for everyone and was the first to offer a helping hand. Roane County was blessed to have you and your loss has left a vacuum that will never be filled. I miss you, dear friend, and thank you for the ultimate sacrifice you paid... doing the job you loved so well!!! RIP, FRIEND!!! Always in my heart....

Christina,
I'm a police officer in Calhoun, Tennessee in McMinn County. I seen the parole alert on Facebook and I am sending a letter to the parole board asking them to deny him. I'm very sorry you lost your dad. I have also asked persons on my Facebook page to do he same. I'm very sorry for the loss of your dad. Maybe we can keep this guy in prison. It's the least we can do.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 29th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
