I wrote the book (Doing Time by Lonnie Starling) dedicated to Officer Captian Steele and the other Officers who died in the line of duty. All the money from this book is converted into more books, (every 4 months) and the books are donated to people who can not afford them, and donated to librarys. This is my way of saying thank you to all who gave all. The names are different to protect some officers who may still be working within the Florida Department of Correction.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 82nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace
