Reflections for Patrolman Clifford Stang

He left behind his wife, Jewell Hart Stang, who never remarried. She was my great Aunt, and a strong, amazing woman. She received the Medal of Honor for her husband, “Sid.” I passed that medal on to my son, Spencer, upon his graduation from police academy. It is rumored that Officer Stang’s ghost frequents the building where he was shot, now Arbor Brewing Company. May he Rest In Peace.

Clifford, you are my great great uncle. Upon graduation from my police academy I was given your Medal of Honor that was presented to you by the City of Ann Arbor. I keep that medal as a prized possession. I am honored to carry on your legacy. Rest In Peace, I will carry on the watch.

Cliff, I never knew you but think of you often. One of our K9 Teams has your name, and your photo is on the wall outside my office. We have the bullet that killed you in a display case with other history of our department. You have been gone a long time, but will NEVER be forgotten.
