Your heroism and service is honored today, the 40th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I hope to meet some of your family at a NorCal COPS meeting.
Rest In Peace

A friend had encouraged to Google my name and others I know. So decide to google my Don. Look what I found. I did not this existed. Don was a loving guy who had a zest for living. His mom was English and Dad was Italain. He had a large immediate family just celebrated everything together. His paternal grandparents were both Italian immigrants. They welcomed everyone to their home and of course Grandmas had to feed you. He learned much about living and celebrating life from them. He was always happy and cracking jokes. He always wanted people to be laughing. He believed when your time is up, it's up so there was no reason fret about the stuff. Just enjoy your life. All he ever wanted was to be a police officer. He looked so forward to nights he was assigned. He was only with the Department 3 months. He died doing what he loved. God bless Johnny C who's bullet found an unintended target. It wasn't your fault. I hope you have found peace.

I miss you still.

Rest in peace, my brother. Although your death was an accident, it does not take away the fact that your family lost you, and we lost a true hero. You will not be forgotten.
