Hi there,
I am the wife of Billy Sizemore's grandson, Daniel. His daughter, Myra, is my husbands momma. She passed away as well, but we are super close to Billy's widow, Laveta. She is almost 87 years old now, and lives in Jarrell Tx. We hear stories about her time with Billy quite a bit. She was just talking about how they used to go dancing on Friday and Saturday evenings. Laveta has his picture and badge in a special place, and I stop and look at sometimes. It good to read about this amazing man.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 49th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. You will always be remembered and revered.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was trying to find information on my family's history when I found it. Officer Sizemore was my Great Uncle. I am so proud of him and thankful to find this.

I had worked for Heet Gas Co on Jackson St. There I met a fine gentleman by the the name of Billy Sizemore. I was so saddened to hear that he had passed way in such a tragic accident. He was a job to visit with.

I had long forgotten of this sad story. Even after nearly 50 years we need to remember those finest that lay it on the line every working day. In this case, Billy left a wife and four kids... I was planning on a tribute to our town's finest, this only pulls in forward.
