Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Trooper Craig A. Scott

Dad,

Each February 9th I remember...and I am at times in need of an extra moment and an extra breath to leave a reflection on this memorial site. I am here for you; I always will be. I can still remember you holding my hand to cross the street to the Michigan State Fair and watching the fireworks together in Detroit on the 4th of July. The bonds of love never die, and the memories live on.

Heavenly Birthday to you my love. You would have been 64 today. As years go by, you show me you're still with me with little spiritual messages. I will love you forever and miss you beyond words. Until we meet again,, ,,

Just prior to Trooper Scott being shot I was talking car to car with
him. He was a good trooper and very nice young man who had the
respect of all who worked with him.

Dad,

Your love has glowed strong throughout my life, remembering all the right lessons you taught me at an early age. Your paternal love. I can still remember you polishing your white Nova with the white leather seats. You had such high standards in all that you did, reaching for perfection. That State of Michigan and family haven't forgotten you.

I miss you...

My love,
Jonathan and I went to the MSP memorial on May 4, 2015 and I must admit it was bitter sweet and beautiful. It's been awhile and I got a wonderful surprise. Your brother, Bryan was there also and I could see the resemblance in his eyes. I miss you so very much. The service was moving and I am so proud of what the MSP has done to keep the spirit alive. Until we meet again eternally,,,,,I will love you always and forever.

Your life will always be a testament of how a drop of love can reverberate throughout another person's lifespan. The memory of you makes me both strong and fragile, at once.

You are still with me.

My faithful servant.
You were called upon to serve others.
You were asked to see, what no man should ever have to see.
To go through, what no man should ever have to go through.
But you did so with pride, honor, and integrity.

My faithful servant.
You were called upon to defend those, who could not defend themselves.
To provide justice to those, who did not respect it.
To lay down your life, if the time called for it.
Again, you did not question what was asked of you.
You did it with love, compassion, and loyalty.

My faithful servant.
In times of adversity, you prayed for strength.
In times of triumph, you praised your Lord.
You served your Country, State, and city proud.
Your service will forever be remembered by the many lives you’ve touched.

My faithful servant.
When your service on this earth is finally complete.
I will welcome you home with open arms.
I will embrace you and proclaim,
“Well done thou good and faithful servant.”

Rest in peace my brother...you are not forgotten

Scotty, I remember when you used to drive me around Goeppingen and Hohenfels, and all the trouble you would get me into. Also, when you were so annoyed at the local Mech Inf Bn CDR, that at Hohenfels you stopped every one of his APCs for a safety check, and deadlined most of them. You said somethig to him like he should not confuse his rank with your authority. We all knew he deserved it. You defintiely helped me in my role as chaplain - you got me to places me places nobody else would dare, and in you own way you had good insight. You were good!
