Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Lawrence E. Schmidtlein

Thank you for your service and dedication to our country, Uncle Lawrence. I was 9 months old when you died, but my Mother adored you and named my brother after you in your honor. I have visited your grave and have often ponder on the sacrifice you made. 54 years have not diminished what you did.

I truly appreciate the comments made on your page. A big heartfelt Thanks!!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 48th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service to my home state and the birthplace of my son. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect and your memory will always be honored and revered
