Reflections for Police Officer George Scheu

Thank you for memorializing my father in this way. It was very special to read the comments you wrote and my heart was touched. Thank you for continuing to remember.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Scheu and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Officer Scheu has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.

To the family and friends of Officer Scheu, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Officer Scheu is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

George;
We miss your smile and helping hand. You are a credit to your family and job. Linda has done a great job raising the kids in your absence in body, but never in mind. You were a great role model to family and friends.

George was one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to know. He always went out of his way to help everyone and you never got a chance to even ask, he would just come over and do what needed to be done.
Back then a lot of the old timers never really even talked to the younger Officers but George was different, no hair-bag attitude, just a warm smile and a helping hand.
I learned a lot from George and throughout the rest of my carreer I attempted to be as helpful with my peers as he was.
Deadicated to a True Cop's Cop.
You'll never be forgotton.

George was the first person I saw when walking into the 115 Precinct for the first time being newly assigned there. He was helpful, friendly and just a wonderful person. He is greatly missed.
