Larry,

The other day I was discussing a criminal justice graduate course with my mother and I mentioned that we were talking about the Watts Riots in class. My mom then told me that she had a cousin that was on LAPD during that time and worked during the riots. She also told me that you died in the line of duty. I then came here to ODMP and looked you up. It is an honor to know that my family has roots in law enforcement going back that far. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice will not be forgotten!

Matthew 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."

Uncle Larry, you have always been a very real part of my life. I was young when you passed. But, I'll always remember your visits to the house both on and off duty. You were my Hero. I followed your example and dedication . . . You really were an inspiration. Rest in Peace . . .

Policeman Amberg - The people of Los Angeles lost three important people that day. You, your partner Alex, and KMPC radio helicopter traffic reporter, "Capt. Max" Shumacher. Rules are in place and instrument panles are better, today, and probably would have prevented a similar tragedy. Chances are that airborne cops are alive, today, because of what was learned from your mishap. Thanks for your service to the people of Los Angeles. May God grant you eternal rest and may His perpetual light shine upon you.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 43rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

Larry and I went through motor school together in November of 1963. After graduating, we partnered up and work south central together. We were partners during the 1965 Watts riots. I remember Larry with great fondness to this day. He always had a smile on his face and was truly a great partner.
May he rest in peace.
