Each day I try to read the ODMP. Today I read your story. Any officer who dies in the line of duty will always be remembered for his/her sacrifice. You died a hero. Rest in peace Officer Sandel.

Lisa was a friendly and outgoing person. She almost always had a smile on her face. Sometimes she would walk into the station with something she had just cooked. We all looked forward to seeing what she was going to bring in next. She is missed.

Senior Corporal Eric Garrett
Dallas Police Department

May God bless you with his love. You will not be forgotten by your police family.

PO Doug Eatherton

Lisa Sandel was my big sister. My memories of her do not extend very far into the realm of being a police officer. To me she was far more than that - she was my tower of strength, my source of inspiration, and my running buddy. Her will and determination were a huge influence on me. She instilled in me my confidence, desire and want. Lisa was an extremely talented athlete - scholarships to college for both track and basketball. She taught me that hard work and perseverance would make one successful. She also taught me the value of fun and compassion in sports. I miss being on a 7 mile run, glancing to my side and seeing her there. Now after every run, I raise my hands to heaven and thank the Lord and thank Lisa for that run.
She is my rock.
I miss you Lisa, I love you.
Your fire burns within me.
