My brother, you and your family payed the ultimate price and that debt can never be repayed. There is no greater sacrifice and honor for someone that dawns the badge then to give their life in the line of duty, we all know the price of our oath, and still, we voluntarily leave the safety of our loved ones arms every day to toe the line.

Your family's tear watered the ground that was to be the foundation of positive changes for all LEOs to come. Those changes have made it possible for thousands of your brothers and sister to return to their families safer at the end of their shift and for that WE are all forever in their debt. I wish God could grant me the knowledge and wisdom to voice to your family how much I appreciate their strength, their honor and their courage. Unfortunately I know no matter how hard I try I will always fall short because for what they have had to endure there are no words.

When God says, "who shall I send", he will hear our brothers and sisters say in one loud thunderous voice, " here i am send me!"

Honor, Duty, Commitment, Sacrifice

Brother, I have wonderful memories of our childhood, high school, and when you first became a father! These memories will never
leave me. But I miss you, my heart breaks just like the day I heard you were murdered! God I pray, ease my pain, knowing that you’re in heaven with no pain at all.

Until we meet again, you sister.

Lord, when it’s time to go inside,
That place of steel and stone.
I pray that you will keep me safe,
So I won’t walk alone.
Help me to do my duty,
Please watch me on my rounds.
Amongst those perilous places
And slamming steel door sounds.
God, Keep my fellow Officers
Well and free from harm.
Let them know I’ll be there too,
Whenever there’s alarm.
Above all when I walk my beat,
No matter where I roam.
Let me go back whence I came,
To family and home.

RIP We have the watch now

By the age of 12 my husband Johnny M. Sanchez knew he would become a law enforcer, after his uncle Officer Jesus D Sanchez was murdered. Today 1-4-16, Johnny received the very flag that draped his uncle's coffin. This flag that has been kept untouched, unseen for 43 years. How emotional and special this moment is. We will honor our uncle, Officer Jesus D Sanchez' flag in our home. Proudly display it's Glory, Honor and ultimately his sacrifice.

I was an Officer at CIM for 24 years. I transferred there in 1985. Obviously I never knew Officer Sanchez. I'd heard a bit about his murder before I transferred and when I saw the small testimonial on display in the Administration Building it struck me somehow. When years later, I found myself in Sacramento working for our Union and interacting with the Legislature and CCPOA's Executive Council, I asked for support in getting a more fitting Memorial for him in the way of a Highway dedication, similar to what we've done for others.

I work at C.I.M, and to be honest never heard the story of Officer Sanchez. I have seen his picture though, and somehow managed to stumble on this site only after reading a post about Victor Sam (CRC Officer, killed on way to work in 1977).

I am sorry for your family's loss, hope to help keep his memory alive somehow at Chino.

Jesse, I never met you, although I am married to your Neice, Teresa, I was just one year into my career when you lost your life in the line of duty and I recall the incident clearly. Being an Officer of the Law can often be a dangerous and sometimes thankless job that requires a tremendous amount of sacrifice and dedication. On behalf of your Community, County, State and Country, you made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and I honor you for that. Rest In Peace.

I retired from CIM-Chino May 31, 2007 after twenty-five years of service there. Officer Sanchez' badge and a small memorial are in a glass case in the minimum yard administration building. This is the first time I have ever seen officer sanchez' picture. I knew and worked with officer George Fitzgerald who was Jesus' partner the day he was shot (both shot, actually). George told me the complete story of what happened that day. Simply put; This isn't a job for everyone. Dangers lurk everywhere. It is a terrible shame to see this young face hidden forever from his family and friends at the hands of evil men. RIP Jesus. Peace and respect to his family! Lord have mercy on us all.
