I have only heard stories of my Great Grandfather from my Uncle Gene. He was a great man. I wish I had paid more attention when I was younger to the stories

Almost 82 years ago from today 10/8/2016. When I was a child, My Grandfather & father told me the stories of how "men came in on horses to rob the gas station." I have no idea if that is accurate. They indicated that the killers took off across country and the weather got at least one of them.

John Locke Alsup
He was my great grand father.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 76th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. . . . I have called you friends . . . —John 15:13, 15

It is an honor and a privilege to be here because of a man who laid his life down for others. May we all live our lives in such a way that we bring glory and honor to our heavenly Father, and our family.

I was born in 1958, so I don't remember my grandfather, but my father, Patrick Shelton Alsup, son of Genevieve and Cecil Byram Alsup, told us about him and his bravery.

I am grateful that this site has been set up to remember him.
