Reflections for Sheriff William L. Rutherford

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 89th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect and your memory will always be honored and revered.

Sheriff Rutherford,
On today, the 85th anniversary of your murder, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Otero County. That the then Governor of New Mexico pardoned your murderer only show me that even back then the New Mexico legal sytem and government was as screwed up back then as it is now.

YOU ARE REMEMBERED TODAY AND THANK YOU SIR FOR YOUR SERVICE, AS ALWAYS THIS WRITER IS OUTRAGED THAT YOUR KILLERS WERE PARDONED, IT IS VERY OBVIOUS THAT THE GOVERNOR AT THAT TIME HAD NO RESPECT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT.

It really makes me angry to hear that the people involved in your senseless murder were pardoned. Your ultimate sacrafice will be remembered. RIP.
