To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 39th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

Thank you for your service P.O. Ridenour. You died a hero and you will always be remembered. I have lived in the Baltimore area the past 10 years but didn't realize until recently how many Baltimore City officers have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

I see you are blessed with a beautiful loving daughter who will never forget what her father meant to her and to others in the community. Rest in peace fine Sir!

My father had such am amazing personality. Always made the best out of a situation. I learned a lot from him and life is very different without him. God has definetely showed us the way to smiling again. I know this experience has changed us forever. Just remember all the good times we shared with my dad and all the love he gave us throughout his years alive here. He is not gone and will never be forgotten HAPPY BDAY DAD!!!!!!!!! XOXOXOXOXOXOOXO

You Da Man!
Ever since my life began,
I realized that "You da man!"
I saw your wisdom, your courage too,
And I learned I could rely on you.
Your tolerant nature was really great;
Nevertheless, you'd not hesitate
To let me know when I'd been bad;
It must have been hard, but that's being a dad.
You're strong and smart and filled with love--
A gift to me from up above,
So here's a greeting from your biggest fan:
Happy Birthday, Dad, 'cause "You da man!"

YOU MAY BE GONE BUT, YOU ARE NEVER FORGOTTEN IN OUR LIVES. HAPPY BDAY DAD!!!!!!

Dad

Dad...so many images come to mind
whenever I speak your name;
It seems without you in my life
things have never been the same.

What happened to those lazy days
when I was just a child;
When my life was consumed in you
in your love, and in your smile.

What happened to all those times
when I always looked to you;
No matter what happened in my life
you could make my gray skies blue.

Dad, some days I hear your voice
and turn to see your face;
Yet in my turning...it seems
the sound has been erased.

Dad, who will I turn to for answers
when life does not make sense;
Who will be there to hold me close
when the pieces just don't fit.

Oh, Dad, if I could turn back time
and once more hear your voice;
I'd tell you that out of all the dads
you would still be my choice.

Please always know I love you
and no one can take your place;
Years may come and go
but your memory will never be erased.

Today, Jesus, as You are listening
in your home above;
Would you go and find my dad
and give him all my love.

Despite the many years that have gone by, I have never forgotten you. I have to admit that there are times when I see your picture, I find myself going back to that fateful day and I fight back the tears. I will always remember that Bronco pulling up at our house in Glen Burnie with you, Aunt Kathy, Little Timmy, and then baby Neicey coming to visit. I think it's important that everyone know just how proud I am of Aunt Kathy. Through it all, she kept her family together and exhibited an insurmountable strength unlike any I have ever seen in my lifetime. This rings true still today. I love Aunt Kathy so very much and also want her to know that not only I, but your children recognize the sacrifices you made for each one of them over the years. Aunt Kathys entire life has been dedicated to her three wonderful children. Even during those times of adversity, she never faultered.

In my heart Uncle Timmy, you died a hero but in your death you created a hero... your wife, my Aunt.

We all love and miss you....

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.
