Dearest Great Uncle Hiram,

Although we never met, as I was born much later, I did hear stories of you. Mainly the story of your tragic death, & how it affected your (our) family. :(
Thank you for your service.

Great-Uncle Hiram. Of course we have never met since you passed 42 years before I was born. I had heard stories of you through the years, and now I am married to a fellow officer. I worry about him every day, and pray for his safe return home every day. Please watch over him and all your fellow brothers & sisters in blue.
Thank you Uncle Hiram.
