I was 19 and not a Police Officer and didn't know then I would become one 8 years later! My two older brothers were Chicago Police Officers and their photo was take together as some of the police officers that had come together to search for Officer Raymond. I remember feeling sick to my stomach thinking that someone had the nerve to confront his officer and take him from his family...what was this world coming to? You are gone and still remain in the hearts and memory of many!

I was 15 yrs old, and living in Cicero when you were murdered. My father had a gas station in LaGrange Pk, where the Police hung out and remember them talking about what happened to you. Some years later, I came on the job a couple burbs east of Hillside and remember hearing how, because of what happened to you, the whole Countywide radio system was revamped to make it safer for Police in the burbs. Now as I am near retirement, just to let you know that you are remembered.

This story breaks my heart. Such a tragic end to a young life.

My heart also aches for all you have missed in the lives of your little ones.

IT'S BEEN 39 YEARS SINCE THAT FATAL DAY THAT TONY LOST HIS LIFE IN THE LINE OF DUTY. IT WAS ALMOST A YEAR LATER, TONY'S BODY WAS FOUND IN RHINELANDER, WISC. HIS BEING FOUND WAS BITTER SWEET. I REMEMBER THE DAY OF THE FUNERAL, THERE WERE POLICEMEN FROM EVERY STATE IN THE UNITED STATES. THE FUNERAL PROCESSION OF CARS WENT ON FOR MILES WITH A POLICE SQUAD CAR EVERY TWENTY CARS. IT TOOK FOUR HOURS TILL THE LAST CAR ENTER THE CEMETERY. THE HEARTBREAK OF LOOSING A YOUNG HUSBAND WITH TWO VERY YOUNG BOYS TOOK A TOLL ON HIS WIFE, WHO SEVERAL YEARS LATER PASSED AWAY. MAY GOD BLESS ANTHONY FOR HIS DEDICATION AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER.
MAY THEY BOTH REST IN PEACE.

I remember hearing about this years ago, and strangely enough had been to Northern WI around the time you were found. The pictures of fellow police looking for you in this area remain etched in my mind.

You will never be forgotten.

My wife found this memorial to Anthony after I mentioned this story. I was a rookie officer working the 1st Watch the night Anthony was abducted. I vividly recall all the traffic stops, that night, in hopes of finding a brother law enforcement officer. Sadly, the efforts of so many failed to find Anthony.

That night shaped the way I made traffic stops and dealt with suspects, over my career. I never forgot that night and believe it was that example, and my Guardian Angel, that kept me safe, sometimes in the worst of situations.

Anthony Raymond now stands in that long line of guardians who gave their all that others may live in peace and safety. I believe that God has a special reward for those who protect.

My oldest son travels to the State Capital a number of times per year and appears at cop killer parole hearings. He was down State today fighting against parole for 3 cop killers, his effort and those that appeared with him from Chicago PD paid off, parole was denied for the 3 cop killers. He also told me that one of the two individuals responsible for your death who was constantly coming up for parole had died while in prison. His sentence has been served, Life without parole. Now all we have to do is fight to keep the other individual responsible for your death in prison until his sentence of Life is completed. Continue to watch over your loved ones, you have not been forgotten.

Rarely over these past so many years, have I not thought of you and our growing up years. With great affection I remember two cans tied togeter with string as we tried to talk to each other, flying around in our confirmation robes and most especially the morning that you served your first mass. I will miss you always.

Officer Raymond,
I was not born yet when you made the ultimate sacrifice. I will be gladly signing a petition urging the parole board to deny your murderer parole. May you rest in peace knowing that your brothers and sisters in blue will not let your memory fade.

I was 6 years old when you were killed on duty.

We lived at 232 Fenwood Lane in Hillside at the time.

I recall my mom and dad talking about what had happened to you.

I always wondered about you, now I see your face on this web page.

To you and your family thanks for watching out for me when I was a kid.

Rest in peace.

Thinking of you today, May 15th, National Police Memorial Day. My wife attended the police memorial service at the American Police Hall of Fame Museum in Titusville, Florida today and placed a blue rose along with your picutre below the marble panel where your name appears. It will remain there for as long as there is room at the base of the panel. Now visitors can place a face with your name. Continue to keep watch over your loved ones. You have not been forgotten.

I recently heard that the two individuals responsible for your death and the pain and suffering endured by your loved ones were denied parole and will not be up again for 3 years. That will be 3 more years of peace for those close to you knowing that these individuals are still in prison. Our only hope is that they don't make it to their next parole hearing. I know some good doers don't agree with me, but to me when they say life in prison, life is life. Continue to keep watch over those that love you.
