Reflections for Deputy Constable D. S. Putman

I am your great grandson and only grandchild. Your son was raised by his mother and then his aunts and uncles after her death. Your service and sacrifice have never been forgotten and passed down to my two daughters, two sons, and five grandchildren. They say we die two deaths - one when our body fails and the other when our name is no longer spoken. I hope it would have been a comfort to you to know that you, your sacrifice and example continue to be remembered.

Great Grandson

Thank you for your service and please know that your sacrifice will never, ever be forgotten. Rest in peace always.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the one hundred and fifth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

One day we will all return to this reflection for you and honor you properly, the way it should be, for a sacrifice that was made from a brave officer who was far too young. Rest in peace always and until we meet again.
