Your grandson has been informed of my early years of being with you. We pull out some pictures from time to time so I can fill in some missing memories. Your daughter and other son have you in their thoughts aways. The family has never forgotten the joys we shared. Your memory will never be die. Wished we could talk Father to Son just one more time.

Miss You:

To this day, the DPD Motor 62 call sign remains retired from service in reverence and respect for Officer Presley’s service to our Department and the citizens of Downey. His silent memorial at the station continues to be a constant reminder of his sacrifice and an unbroken inspiration to those that follow in his footsteps. We will never forget. Never.

I was five years old when this tragedy struck. I can remember your procession passing by my house. It seemed to go on forever, and being so young I remember thinking that it was a parade. It left a very lasting impression that I will never forget. It is one of my earliest memories as a child. Thank you for making that sacrific. God Bless You Always.

I only met you a few times when you would meet your wife at her parents house for dinner or when you had a break. Even though I was only 12 or 13 at the time, seeing you pull up on your motor and stand there in your full uniform made an impact on me forever. I remember the morning after the accident and I remember you had just been at the house within that pass week. May you rest in peace!

Wayne,

I came to the Downey Police department in January of 1986 as a lateral Police Officer from the City of Vernon. Although we never met in person, I thought it was important that you know that you have always been remembered. Your picture and badge are on display in the department which I am sure you would have suspected. But more importantly, your memory lives on through the kind words and memories that were shared by those who worked with you. We are all very proud of your commitment and we are honored to serve in your footsteps. We will carry on our mission with the pride in knowing that we are continuing the brave work that you were engaged in before our arrival. gods speed and thank you for your sacrifice. You will not be forgotten.

Time has passed and the torch has been passed to other brothers and sisters in blue. But time has not lessened your sacrifice. Thank you. 08/21/2003
