Reflections for Special Agent Jared Robert Porter

Kristi,

I was reading your comment about K9 Brunie so I decided to read about your father who was a FBI Agent. I think that your father was a true hero that day and probably saved allot of agents lives that day. I really know that you miss him I share your same feelings, I lost my father as I just turned 4 years old not like your dad, but a loss is a loss, no matter how it happens. I believe that your dad is with you every day close but not far away. You will see him some day and will make up on some much needed love. I believe that your dad had angels there that day to see to his needs and took him to heaven in the blink of an eye.

Best Regards

Joe Covington

Dear Sir Jared Robert Porter, dear Kristi,

sorry, by reading the reflections I was pushed to write down my deep respect, my greetings. My thoughts went to the verses of the Holy Bible:

‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭12-14‬ KJVA

12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Especially the 13th verse touched me and I liked to add 12&14.

You have sacrificed your life not only for friends, but also for strangers!

This is more than only a HERO - A FRIEND OF JESUS CHRIST!

This may give you comfort and confidence.

By searching and translation of this thoughts, I got the Biblical Word of the day from our church, I read this and tears filled my eyes:
John 15, 13 The word I searched five minutes ago.

I wish you all the best, that our Lord and Heavenly Father give grace in eternity and for you, dear Kristy, power and strength and an unshakeable faith and hope in the help of God and a reunion in eternity.

God bless you.

Kind regards from heart to heart,
a touched person from Germany

(sorry for my bad English)

Special Agent Porter, remembering you and your family on this 35th anniversary of your passing. I met Kristi at an Adult Children's Retreat in 2012 and she shared your story in a way that one would never forget. Losing you has left an empty place in her heart and yet she continues to console others and teaches us all how to go on. Nothing in this world can replace her Dad, but know that everyone who knows Kristi has shared her grief and remembers the man she so dearly loves. RIP

Wow, I received your condolence letter ref: the sudden loss of my K9 partner Old Dan. My family and I thank you. I read up on the tragic loss of your father, what a true hero. We are about the same age and though my father was not a LEO he died to young and prior to meeting my kids. My dad's birthday was the same day I received your card. Oh how I wish we could bring back loved ones, but someday we will see them again. Your dad is proud of you for taking the time to reach out to all of us. God bless.

i miss you dad. it's been a week of memorials to honor you and other fallen officers. it's been emotional. we've had nice support from our FBI family. i'm very grateful for that. i've been able to speak up and participate in the memorials by sharing some words... even got interviewed for TV. i'm not big on the spotlight but it's such a good cause - people need to know how survivors feel. i just wish you were here. i really miss you and i know mom does too. can't wait to be with you again.

Your daughter Kristi sent a letter of support to Deputy Brandy King of the Meigs County Sheriff's Office in Ohio. Deputy King recently lost her K9 partner, Zach. Kristi wanted to show her support to Deputy King, her family, and the entire Meigs County Sheriff's Office. It makes us all proud to wear a badge knowing that people like Kristi are out there. You should be very proud of everything she is doing to support everyone in law enforcement. God Bless.

I'm a sergean with Phoenix Pd and today received a letter expressing condolences from Kristi Porter, daughter of Robert Porter. I concur with Chief Denham that Agent Porter's daughter is very thoughtful. To take the time to put such feeling in the letter she wrote to me touched me tremendously. Daryl Raetz was a fantastic officer and he will be mist tremendously. My sincere thanks on behalf of our folks.

My deepest condolences to Ms. Porter, as well as your daughters and son. Not knowing Agent Porter I am nevertheless proud of Agent Porter for serving the people of the United States as a FBI agent. I know he was a good caring and loving human being as well as a loving husband to his wife and loving father to his four daughters and his only son, Assistant Special Agent Porter (Retired). I also know for a fact that Agent J. Robert Porter is in heaven serving our Lord and looking over his family, especially his daughters and son.

Happy Birthday Dad! I miss sharing our parties. I miss you. I'm really trying to feel your presence with me everywhere I go. It's hard to do this but I won't give up. I need to have you with me. I just wish it was in the literal sense. I could really use your shoulder to cry on and listen to your advice and words of wisdom. I hate that I miss out on so much. BUT, I'm still proud of you and grateful for all you did in this life.
Hope you've got some cake and ice cream up there.
Love you.

Special Agent Porter,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the gift that is your daughter Kristi. I have read many of the posts that she has sent to you and it is clear that the short seven years you shared with her left an indelible mark on her personality. All these years after your heroic battle over evil ended, she still carries the torch for you and law enforcement everywhere. You should be very proud of her.

It is said that our legacy lives on in the form of our children. Please know that your legacy is alive and well and will never be forgotten.

Thank you sir for your service to your country and to your family.

To the Porter and Elmore family's,
My heart truely goes out to you all for your loss. I feel your pain. My Uncle was taken from us - Officier Joesph O'Brien EOW 12/24/1968 suddenly. I see his son (My Cousin) quite often and we look at old photos from time to time. I was only 10 years old and can still remember it like it was an hour ago. I believe in my heart that even though my cousin and Kristi could not of been with their Dad's longer, they both could not of made their Dad's more proud of who they are.
God bless all the fallen Officiers and their familys.

Jim O'Brien
Nephew of Joe O'Brien EOW 12/24/1968
