Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Patrolman Ross Peterson

Rest in peace and always know that your service and sacrifice will never, ever be forgotten by your law enforcement brethren.

Detective Cpl/3 Steven Rizzo
Delaware State Police (Retired)

I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.

As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.

You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.

MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH.

You are remembered on this 78th anniversary year of your tragic death. Time never diminishes respect. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. Rest in Peace, Ross.

I would also like to personally thank the Reno Police Department for your officers attending the funeral of my son Larry Lasater in 2005. I know that you were in Concord in 2008 for the funerals of the Martinez officer who was shot and the funeral of Brad Moody, Richmond PD.. You guys are great to honor our fallen officers in Northern California, and the next time I am in Reno I want to personally go to your station and thank you. Perhaps one of the reasons you guys are so supportive to other agencies is that you know what it is like to experience the loss of a brother/sister officer.
