Ben was my great uncle. My dad told me this story when I was small. I have passed it on countless times. He was pretty much a legend to us. RIP uncle Ben.

I lived next door to you when I was a little girl. Ben Perry was so kind to the young children on our 8th street neighborhood. He used to hide coins in the front yard and then ask us if we could find any money in the yard, and of course we always did. My name is Marlene McGregor Dillon, and I remember when you died, it was a great loss to everyone who knew you.
