Patrolman Augustus J. Perreira, Jr., you are my silent partner, and after some research I find myself wishing I could have met you. I’m in the academy, learning the same profession you made your calling. I am proud of those that came before me. You set an incredible example sir, and I can plainly see that those close to you still honor your name. Your EOW was before I was even born, but I will go forward with your memory in my heart. I take pride in the shared heritage. I pray for continued healing for those left behind, both your family and your department. Rest in the embrace of our Heavenly Father brother, we’ll hold the line from here.

This has been a hard year. In April of this year we lost our oldest sister. We miss Tim, our parents and our sister. Our family gets smaller, but our Colorado family is always there. We love them all and always will

Once again we joined our Colorado Springs family to celebrate the lives of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. Each year brings us closer together in our loss, but it also brings us closer to the wonderful family we have gained. Thank you to all the family and friends who work tirelessly to make this happen each year. You are always in our thoughts and prayers.

Timmy was my contemporary growing up in South Ozone Park, NY. He lived on Inwood Street and I lived on 145 Street. Our backyards were directly across each other's backyard fences. My sisters were contemporaries of his oldest sister. Timmy and the other guys in the neighborhood had occasions to play outside together back when it took the "village" to raise the children. He was always warm and engaging and fun. After we grew up and moved on, I lost track of Timmy. I'm distraught to learn that he has lost his life. But I am heartened to learn that he had chosen, as I have, to live a life of public service. My thoughts remain with him and the Perreira family.

Saw a mention of you by your sister on another page. So sorry this happened. So sorry for all your loved ones as well. This should never, ever happen.
To his loved ones, I am so sorry. Keep each other close, because life is short! Prayers for all.

36 years does not lessen the void that has been left by your absence. I am honored and humbled to have had the opportunity to meet and befriend your family. They have become such an important part of my life. You would be so proud of you son. He has faced every curve life has thrown him head on. Your grandchildren are the spitting image of you. Your legacy lives on through your family and their dedication to see that you are honored. I am proud to call them my friends. We will never forget your service or sacrifice.

This year is going to be the 36th since you were taken from your loved ones. They still love you and miss you. Your son is a wonderful dad and your youngest grandson reminds (the people that knew you) of you. One would think that after all these years it has gotten easier to accept that you are gone but year after year I see that you gone but never forgotten. R.I.P and know that you are always in our thoughts

I went to Colorado Springs recently to participate in several events for the memorial. It was remarkable. Some very, very, very special people worked extremely hard to make that weekend happen. Your son and daughter-in-law were a part of it, because everyone there opened their arms and embraced them from the beginning. Everyone I met was extraordinary, and their commitment to this is amazing. I thought I would be sad, but I felt so blessed by all that happened I could only feel grateful, and overjoyed when they allowed me to pitch-in a bit. It meant a great deal to me. I will always remember the dedication, and love of all involved. Unfortunately, two more of your brothers have lost their lives. Our prayers will go out to their families.

Your never forgotten. You live on in so many ways, and so many memories. You live on most through your son. He has the wonderful qualities of both his parents. The grandchildren he's given you are remarkable. It's hard to accept that all these years have passed, and every time a police officer or a fireman is lost I know what they feel. Mom never forgot all the love and support we got from the people of Colorado Springs, and we won't either. We miss you so very much, but you live in our hearts always and forever, and when we can no come to this spot your grandchildren will. To all your brothers in uniform who have joined you continue to watch over us all.

Your loving sister and family

Timmy,
Joe and I were reminiscing about you today. Although it has been 33 years we still remember you like it was yesterday. You were always a great cover car and we enjoyed calls with you. I'll never forget you calling me and Joe the dynamic duo. RIP brother thanks for the great memories.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 32nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace today. Thanks to your family and friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflection.

Rest In Peace.

Back in 1980 my family and I were just returning from our L.A. vacation an as we were driving thru Arizona we were stopped by a State Trooper who advised me of the shooting of a CSPD officer. I had just completed my 1st year as a CSPD patrolman and was unaware of what had happened back home. I think of you often Augustus in my thoughts & prayers.
