Reflections for Captain Peter F. Pepin

Captain Pepin, it has been 101 years since you were taken from us. The law enforcement legacy you have left your community and beyond is an honor of which to be very proud.

New England law enforcement has continued to thrive, learn and become safer due to the traditions and sacrifices you, your family, and many others have made for us. Thank you for your law enforcement service.

Great grandfather, Peter Pepin. I am honored to say that your service has finally been recognized by the City of East Providence. Your great Nephew, Thomas Pepin worked tirelessly to ensure your death was not in vain. Your name is now on the memorial outside the EPPD and on the wall in Washington DC. Thank you for your service to our city, along with your son, William Pepin ( my grandfather) and my father, John Ciallella. We are honored to be part of such a legacy.

Peter was my great grandfather I never met him but was I told a lot about him by my grandfather William Pepin who was on the EPPD and by my father John Ciallella who also was on the EPPD both retired after 20 plus years of service. I know many past and present members of the EPPD and have much respect for all! Thanks for what you do.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 88th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I am sure you are proud that your family continued your legacy of protecting and serving.

Rest In Peace

Protecting our freedoms here on the home front makes you a hero, no different than those who have served the armed forces protecting our freedoms in wars abroad only your battle was closer to home.

God Bless You
