Reflections for Special Agent Anthony Palmisano

Thank you for the memorial Mr. Harvey, from S.A. Palmisano's nephew, and on behalf of our family. We also have gratitude for the agents in the Newark NJ field office, where my uncle started, who meet at the cemetery every year to honor his memory.

It’s been 55 years and there’s only a couple of us left who were directly involved in this tragedy,
But we’ll never ever forget Tony and Ed.

I came across this article and the name Anthony Palmisano jumped out. My dad’s brother was Anthony Palmisano now deceased and a first cousin named the same. Be assured of my gratitude for his service and my continued prayers for Anthony and all who have been lost. May they all be at peace. Sincerely,
Peter J. Palmisano

I only learned about SA Palmisiano today after reading an article in the current Fordham University Magazine about Edwin Woodriffe who was shot down and killed during the same incident. I wanted to know more about the brave agent who sacrificed his life in the service of his country. A google search brought me to this page. I do not have any family or relatives in law enforcement but I am deeply grateful for their service and feel sad for their families when their lives are lost. Thank you all for your service and God bless and protect you.

Anthony, Since you were a uniquely qualified Special Agent with HQ experience, you were well known and highly regarded by the FBI staff in the DC Field Office, HQ staff at the SOG where you had worked for seven years. and of course the Academy in Quantico where you had graduated a year earlier. The news of that gunfire on the afternoon of Wed Jan 8, 1969 was met with disbelief and shock in the DC FBI offices. The intensity of your pride, your excitement, your enthusiasm, and your years of personal dedication to the FBI's mission set an example for all of us at the Bureau. You were missed and certainly not forgotten. Every Christmas/New Years week I am reminded of the sacrifice that you and your family have made for me and my family. We will never forget.

For my cousin Anthony. I think of you often with pride. I have a grandson named Anthony and I've told him about you--that you were an FBI agent and died in the line of duty. You are in my memories...games we played as kids. I wish you were still here. Love always..Alicia
