To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 50th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

Mom of fallen California Officer Larry Lasater, Pittsburg PD, eow 4/24/05

Chief James Cornelius Pace is my mother's (Betty Pace) uncle Neil. He died three months before I was born, so I didn't have the honor of actually knowing him, but I've heard great things about him all my life.

Neil was my mom's favorite uncle. He was a wonderful man who loved his family dearly. He always had a soft spot for my mom, which makes him special to me, even though I never met him.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say how proud I am to have had Chief James Cornelius Pace as a relative. He lost his life serving the people of Littleville, and I hope that he will never be forgotten. I know he won't be forgotten in my family. He's a hero.

(There was one man who confessed to the shootings, but one man couldn't fire three different kinds of guns, killing two officers and injuring two others.)
