Thank you for your service and on days like this we remind you and your family that your sacrifice is one that will never, ever be forgotten. Rest in peace always.

I am the great grand daughter in-law of Patrolman Elmer Ostling. I keep his memory and story alive and honored in our home with his photos. Patrolman Ostling's only daughter was a child when he was murdered. His untimely death left them with a great struggle and left a wound on their hearts all their days. His daughter carried the original newspaper report of the crime, with her, in her wallet until the day she died. These fine men who serve have families, are loved, yet sacrifice their lives for our safety. They deserve our utmost respect and we should never forget that. They are everyday hero's.
Our family thanks you for your kind words regarding Mr. Ostling . Peace be with you.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 80th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
