Police Officer Renee Dunbar died from illnesses caused by inhaling toxic materials while participating in the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Officer Dunbar served with the New York City Police Department for 21 years, assigned to the 103rd Precinct. She is survived by her mother, two sisters, aunt, and three nephews.
