Police Officer Robert Nicosia died from illnesses caused by inhaling toxic materials while partaking in the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site, following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Officer Nicosia had served with the New York City Police Department for 20 years and also served as a volunteer member of the Wantagh Fire Department. He his survived by his wife, son, and four stepdaughters.
