Officer Paul Laszczynski was killed in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks while attempting to rescue the victims trapped in the World Trade Center.

He was last seen helping people in the North Tower above the 20th floor.

Officer Laszczynski had served with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department for thirteen years. He earned a Fraternal Order of Police Valor Award for his heroics during rescue attempts after the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing. He was survived by two daughters and two sisters.
