William M. Morrison, Jr.

Police Officer Morrison was killed when his patrol car was broadsided at the intersection of 15th Street and Ashland Avenue by a drunk driver.

While working special employment for Public Housing North, Officer Morrison learned of a man with a shotgun in the area. Accompanied by other officers, Morrison responded to the scene. During the response, his police vehicle was struck broadside by a vehicle traveling at a high speed, driven by a drunk driver who failed to yield right of way at an intersection. The violent impact resulted in Officer Morrison's death.

Officer Morrison had served with the Chicago Police Department for 29 years. He was survived by his wife, son, and two daughters.
