Trumbull police remember officer killed 43 years ago

TRUMBULL — Town police took to social media to honor a fallen officer Thursday who died on this day 43 years ago.

Officer John Montabana was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic on Nov. 1, 1974, and he succumbed to his injuries on Nov. 2, 1974, police said.

Montabana served with the Trumbull Police Department for two years and six months before his death, police said. He died at the age of 60.
