Inspector William Moher succumbed to a gunshot wound sustained the previous day during a shootout with a robbery suspect.

The suspect was trying to pawn jewelry that had been stolen. The suspect was also shot and killed.

Inspector Moher had served with the Manchester Police Department for 23 years. He was survived by his wife and children.
