Garland Matthew Miller

Trooper Garland Miller was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Route 168 (modern-day I-64) in York County, three miles west of Williamsburg.

The patrol car he was in skidded off of the roadway and struck a group of trees. He was training a newly hired trooper at the time of the crash.

Trooper Miller was a United States Army Military Police veteran and had served with the Virginia State Police for seven years. He was survived by his wife, daughter, son, and parents.

On today, the 60th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
