Garland Matthew Miller

Trooper Garland Miller was killed in a single vehicle crash on Route 168 (modern-day I-64) in York County, three miles west of Williamsburg.

The patrol car he was in skidded off the of the roadway and struck a group of trees. He was training a newly hired trooper at the time of the crash.

Trooper Miller had served with the Virginia State Police for seven years. He was survived by his wife, daughter, son, and parents.
