Marion Paul Mengedoth

Officer Paul Mengedoth was killed in a crash when his police motorcycle was struck head-on by another vehicle inside the Yerba Buena Tunnel portion of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.

The other vehicle crossed the center divider and struck him as he escorted a convoy of automobiles across the bridge.

Officer Mengedoth had only served with the California Highway Patrol for six months.
