Deputy Sheriff Michael McNabb was killed when a drunk driver struck his patrol car head-on while he was patrolling State Route 14 at 2:30 am.

The collision caused Deputy McNabb's patrol car to burst into flames.

Deputy McNabb is survived by his parents and sister.

On April 17th, 2016, a six-mile section of WA State Route 14, between Lyle and Murdock, was dedicated as the Deputy Michael J McNabb Memorial Highway.
