View all 21 ReflectionsPatrolman Mateer, both you and the Metropolitan Police are a part of Massachusetts history, a proud part. Your heroic act was repeated in Worcester last June. Your type of heroism is never forgotten, nor should it be.
We will honor the Metropolitan Police for all time, and you are a major part of that Department's history. You are not forgotten, nor will you be. You are a true hero.
Forever Rest in Peace, Brother and God Bless.
