Edward Mackiw

Trooper Edward Mackiw succumbed to injuries received when he was struck by a car while directing traffic on the Penn-Lincoln Highway near Pittsburgh.

The driver was convicted of involuntary manslaughter on February 10, 1961.

Trooper Mackiw was a U.S. Navy veteran and had served with the Pennsylvania State Police for almost nine years. He was survived by his mother and brother.
