Special Agent James Lunn and Special Agent Ralph Shaw died in a plane crash during an operations flight in support of Mexico's opium eradication program.

The single-engine de Havilland Beaver crashed into a 12,000-foot mountain near Atoyac de Alvarez, Mexico, during a period of low visibility due to a thick haze. Mexican federal narcotics agent Noe Echaustegui was also killed in the crash.

It's a shame Special Agent James T. Lunn, that Your EOW was 40 years ago today and not one person has said Thank You for Your service. I was 10 years old when You slipped the earthly bonds of this life. I don't know when this site went online, but it's sad that no one has acknowledged Your sacrifice. As of today, Thank You for Your service and sacrifice, and now may You finally RIP. Gone, but not now forgotten.
