Sidney Harrison

Correctional Officer Sidney Harrison was killed while traveling to a court appearance when the tire in his van blew out, causing the van to flip.

He was ejected from the van and then crushed when it rolled over him on Mississippi 3, one mile south of Vance.

Officer Harrison is survived by his wife, three daughters, son, and parents.

On today, the 25th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of Mississippi. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. There is no tougher job in Law Enforcement than that of a Corrections Officer.
