Raymond Frank Lovett, Sr.

Officer Lovett died of a heart attack as he was bringing a number of gambling suspects into the Germantown Avenue and Haines Street station house. Officer Lovett was involved in a foot pursuit during an investigation at a restaurant at Wayne Avenue and Chelton Avenue.

Officer Lovett was a U.S Army veteran of WWI and had served with the Philadelphia Police Department for 14 years. He was survived by his wife and two children.

You would have loved your grandfather. He was a great guy! He was my uncle. He was my mothers brother. They were very close! I was only 10 when we lost your grandfather. Unfortunately somehow families grow apart. I would have also loved to have known you!
