John T. Lloyd

Officer Lloyd was shot and killed after asking a group of men to quite down. Officer Llyod was on his beat when he observed a group of two or three men on a corner. The men were creating a loud disturbance. Officer Lloyd approached the men and asked them to quite down. One of the men drew a pistol and fired, killing Officer Lloyd. The suspect was apprehended by other officers.

The 21-year-old suspect was convicted of second degree murder and sentenced to 18 years. He was released on December 13, 1904.

Officer Lloyd had been with the agency for just 10 months.
