Investigator Michael Lewis was killed in an automobile accident near Flagstaff, Arizona, while returning from conducting a follow-up homicide investigation in Indianapolis, Indiana.

His vehicle went out of control and overturned during a heavy rainstorm.

Investigator Lewis was survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son. He was a US Army veteran.

Michael O. Lewis lived forty years in San Bernardino and died in Flagstaff, Arizona. He graduated from Redlands High School in 1963 and served in the Army from 1964 to 1966. He graduated from San Bernardino Valley College and was a senior investigator for the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office. He was survived by his wife, Lynda, son, Patrick in Santa Clara, two daughters, Jennifer of Santa Clara and Lynda of San Bernardino, brother, Jeffrey of Fallon, Nevada and parents, Kenneth and Marth Lewis of Cayucos. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the F. Arthur Cortner Chapel with interment in Memorial Memorial Park. Memorial.
