Hello, Bob. It’s Spencer. Sunday will mark, what, the 28th anniversary of that fateful day. I still remember it as if it just happened. It’s seared in my memory; the scene, the trees off in the distance that are now homes, the quiet of the morning shattered by the shooting. Your yellow rain jacket is what I remember most…when I found you, my brain wasn’t processing because I could only see your arm sticking out (the yellow sleeve of the coat) because the suspect way laying on top of you. After we pulled him off, tried to assess your wound and look for the other bad guy we thought escaped…why it had to be you and not me, I’ll never understand. You are missed and not forgotten. Ever.
