Conservation Officer Stanley Larson died from injuries sustained when his horse reared up and fell onto him at the Bowns Creek Fish and Game cabin along Big Smokey Creek, approximately 23 miles north of Fairfield.
He and two other officers were loading horses into a trailer for transport when the accident happened. The horn of his horse's saddle struck him and caused fatal internal injuries.
Officer Larson had served with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game for 26 years. He was survived by his wife and six children.
